Can-Do Maps                           For the absolute best maps we've EVER seen of the Cancun-Tulum Corridor,
check out this site.  By bicycling the Yucatan with a GPS unit, Perry and
Laura have created maps that are extremely accurate and are great resources
for pre-trip preparation as well as for on-site navigation.  Order them over the web!
We feel so strongly about the importance of having a great map that we provide
our guests with the "Can-Do Riviera Maya" map upon receipt of the rental balance.

A Word About Forums and Message Boards:

I wish I had the time to dedicate to properly running a message board on this site.
The good news is that there are some excellent ones already in existence that
can provide up-to-date, impartial information on the Riviera Maya.  I am proud
to be an active contributor to the following:

THE Travel Forum                     If your travel interests extend to the Caribbean and beyond, try the legendary CompuServe Travel Forum!
The entire globe is represented.  I am proud to be a Sysop on this forum, monitoring the Caribbean/Mexico/Latin
America Section in particular.   CompuServe forums  are now open to all - a CompuServe membership is no
longer required to participate.  A User Name and Password are required, to maintain decorum (if you already
have an AOL, Netscape or CompuServe Screen Name, that's all you need), but there is absolutely no charge
                                                    for signing up.

CARM                                        CARM stands for "Cancun and the Riviera Maya".  This is the best Internet Message Board
for this region that I have found.  Unlike other boards, civility is maintained at all times.
The regulars of this board sincerely enjoy discussing the Mexican Caribbean and helping
those who are new to the area.  I post there as "AkumalDave".

All About Cancun                      The premier site about Cancun. 20,000 searchable Q&A's, pics of all the beaches and more.
Weather Underground              Looking for the latest weather conditions?  Check the Weather Underground.  This link is set to take you
directly to the Mexico page, where you can find current conditions for Cancun and Cozumel.
(note that Akumal's weather is closer to Cozumel's  than Cancun's).
Jamaica Jim's site                     Hey - even WE admit that a change of pace is in order every once in awhile.  If you want to experience sun,
sand and sea, but are looking for somewhere besides Mexico, I suggest you peruse Jamaica Jim's site.
Jamaica Jim Jordan is dear friend of ours who has been to the Caribbean basin more times that he can count!
JJJ is also one of the WizOps of the Compuserve Travel Forum (listed above).  If you stop by his site, make sure
to say "Hola" from Dave & Colette!

Scubamom's site                      Lynn McKamey's gateway to Exotic Plants & Palms, Caribbean Travel, Scuba Diving and Dive Humor!
"Scubamom" is a Section Leader on CompuServe's Caribbean Travel Forum (as am I).  Lynn's site is
to thank for some of the graphics and midi files found here.
CEA                                            Centro Ecological Akumal is a non-profit organization  dedicated to preserving the balance between humans
and the environment along the Riviera Maya.  Find out about their  educational programs on Sea Turtles, the
Coral Reefs, the Mayan Culture and more.  Plan to visit the center when you come to Akumal!
